Jojakkoh-Ji
In 1595, Monk Nisshin founded this temple at Ogura-yama (Mt. Ogura) as his refuge. This area was known for its poetical associations or this area would often be described in classical Japanese poems “waka“. From this temple, you can see almost all the Kyoto city, such as Sagano, Kinugasa-yama (Mt. Kinugasa), Hiei-zan (Mt. Hiei), Daimonji-yama (Mt. Daimonji), Otowa-yama (Mt. Otowa). In autumn, all leaves of trees there turn into red-yellow. This is really silent but tasteful temple.
